The Goomalling Tavern, a simple pub in a humble country town, has inadvertently added an international flavour to Goomalling with young backpackers from around the world working at the pub, falling in love with Goomalling and its locals, and sometimes even marrying one of them. The Goomalling Tavern is open every day from 12 noon for you to come in for a drink, a game of pool, a chat with the locals and/or other travellers, and eat some bar snacks or enjoy a meal. The bottleshop has weekly specials. Guests are welcome to stay in one of the 23 very affordable rooms.

Visitors who are looking for a more unique boarding experience may consider staying at Goomalling’s historic Slater Homestead.  The homestead offers modern conveniences in a 19th century décor. There is a queen room in the old school master’s house, and a double room in the main homestead, which has a sitting room attached.

Newly refurbished bed and breakfast The Silver Possum is centrally located just off the main street and caters for group bookings as well as individual travellers. You will be surprised on entering this plain looking two story building; the beautifully decorated interior amazes all who walk in the door. The entry is graced with a chandelier and water fountain, with a vast, elegant and comfortable sitting room to the right and a stylish and welcoming dining room to the left.  A wide staircase leads from the entry to the upstairs accommodation of nine delightful rooms (suitable for couples, singles, and families) and two spacious and immaculate bathrooms.  Bathroom facilities, although shared, are all newly refurbished in keeping with the décor of the rest of this boutique bed and breakfast. There are four large and attractive downstairs bedrooms and a spotless bathroom with access for people with disabilities.
